Dear Quilt and Fabric Lovers,

Piecing and sewing quilted projects is my passion! I love to put fabrics together to create a work of art. I stop at every quilt shop I can find. My husband knows to bring along a newspaper whenever we venture out on the road. He has been the most patient, wonderful husband. He is content to wait while I scope out any possible fabric or pattern I don't own and he rarely tells me I have to leave! I know where every quilt shop is for miles around and I have to regularly go and inspect the new things. I also carry the book that lists many quilt shops in North America and we have to stop, of course. I have to check out the Yellow Pages of any new town and visit their shops as well. We recently went to Victoria, BC and found a delightful quilt shop there. I am now an International shopper! To put it mildly, I'm hooked!

My wonderful Grandmother taught me early in life to love to create with the needle and thread. I remember playing under her quilt frame as a small child and spent many hours watching her put together beautiful color and designs. When she was 96 years old, I took her to a local quilt show. As I pushed her around in her wheelchair, I saw the wonder in her face as she remembered back to the many hours she spent making so many beautiful things. She passed away that year and a few years later, one of her quilts won a blue ribbon in another quilt show. She would have been so proud. Now my little grandchildren love to come into my sewing room and watch me make many "pretties". I hope that some day they too will carry on this grand tradition.

Fabrics, techniques, and equipment have greatly improved quilting over the years. One thing that hasn't changed is the instant connection we make with others who share this great passion for putting beautiful colors together to make a lasting treasure.

I would like to thank my dear friends, Kori, Connie, and Linda K.for being an inspiration and motivating force when I really didn't want to go on creating. Also a thank you to my special group; Kathy, Chris, Linda S., Sue, Carol, Nancy P., and Janet.We have had so much fun creating and encouraging each other every Tuesday night. They always gave me good advice and never told me that I made anything ugly, even though I have to admit, they all needed glasses! Kori has faithfully gone with me to every quilt show and praises my efforts to anyone who will listen. Connie makes blocks for me whenever I ask and Linda K. organizes my very scatter-brained life. We have had loads of fun "on the road" in search of new and exciting quilt stores. I treasure my group of friends and encourage everyone who loves to quilt and create to be part of a special group. I wouldn't have been able to continue down this road without my special friends and without inspiration from God.
